Every year, the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, comes alive with a burst of music and celebration as it plays host to one of the most anticipated cultural festivals in the region – Fiestas de Octubre. This month-long extravaganza, which translates to “October Festivities,” is a magnificent showcase of Mexican culture, tradition, and artistry. With lively parades and colorful performances, Fiestas de Octubre beautifully illustrates the cultural mosaic that defines the wonderful city of Guadalajara. And we are extremely excited to be working with the State of Jalisco and Mexican government to bring you Fiestas de Octubre in Los Angeles!

The historical roots of Fiestas de Octubre date back to the mid-20th century. It was initially conceived as a platform to promote local arts and crafts, as well as to honor the city’s patron saint, San Judas Tadeo. Over the years, the festival has evolved into a grand celebration of not only religious devotion but also a diverse range of cultural expression. Here are some of the highlights of the festival:

Parades: The festival kicks off with a grand parade, featuring elaborate floats, folk dancers, marching bands, and costumed performers. This procession winds its way through the heart of Guadalajara, setting the stage for the festivities to come.
