“Tianguis del Arte en el Hotel Maya” will be held on Sunday, September 17, from 12-3 p.m., in celebration of Mexican Independence Day Weekend with the artworks of more than 25 Latin American and guest artists offering their wares and showcasing their talents. In addition, guests can enjoy Fuego’s Sunday Brunch from 12-3 p.m., along with a live Mariachi Band on the waterfront patio and strolling on property.

“Tianguis del Arte en el Hotel Maya” features display stations presenting art for sale throughout the property and live painting demonstrations in Fuego and outdoors at The Esplanade and Luna Solstice, adjacent to the hotel lobby. Several artists will demonstrate their painting techniques on oversized communal canvases in each location. Live specialty music will also be performed during the day to enhance the authentic Latin American event.

Assisting in the arrangement of the “Tianguis del Arte en el Hotel Maya” and Latin American and guests artists’ appearance and participation is Margarita Medina, Program Director, and Jose Antonio Aguirre, Executive Director, of the Mexican Cultural Institute of Los Angeles, based in Los Angeles, Calif. The Mexican Cultural Institute and Casa de la Cultura Maya will also have a crafts and information table.

“Tianguis del Arte en el Hotel Maya” is part of Hotel Maya’s “Mayapalooza” celebration during 2023 that includes live Mesoamerican dance performances, live animal interactions, art demonstrations, culinary experiences, live music, auto exhibition, interactive storytelling, academic lecture and other exciting events for both kids and adults to enjoy in Fuego or on hotel property.
