“Witching Hour” Sugar Cookie Decorating Class

Come join us for a spooktacular evening at The Hangout! Get ready to unleash your creativity and learn the art of decorating sugar cookies. This in-person event is perfect for all skill levels – whether you’re a beginner or an experienced baker. Your instructor will guide you through the process, providing tips and tricks to make your cookies truly bewitching. So grab your friends and let your imagination run wild as you create edible masterpieces. Don’t miss out on this wickedly fun experience!

In this class, we’ll cover all the basics! We’ll do some piping practice with royal Icing, talk about decorating strategies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! When you leave, you’ll have learned a sweet new skill and have a set of gorgeous cookies ready to dry for 24 – 48 hours in their own box.

Every class attendee will receive a royal icing recipe as well as the powerpoint we use in class to help them recreate the delicious fun at home!

Everything you’ll need is provided at class – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron—royal icing gets messy!). There is a PowerPoint for reference, so if you wear glasses, we’d encourage you to bring them as well. Oh – and bring your phone – we love seeing your photos!

Children ages 8 and up are welcome to attend with an accompanying adult (both must purchase a ticket).

About the Instructor:

Alenni Chitwood is a self-taught baker and the owner of cottage bakery Batter Up Sweetery (@batterupsweetery). When she’s not baking or decorating cookies, she’s running her tutoring company, Eggheads Learning Academy, and chasing after her one-year-old son. Alenni is a Long Beach local who loves doing yoga, discovering new restaurants, and hunting for treasures at the Long Beach Antique Market.
