Farm Lot 59 Tour and Garden Workshop

Nature buffs, gardeners, growers and the community at large are invited to attend a special event co-hosted by Farm Lot 59 and Ground Education, two nonprofits rooted in Long Beach with missions that focus on the environment, learning, and sustainable practices.

Participants will be guided around the farm to learn about Farmer Sasha Kanno’s vegetable and sustainable flower operation, the unique history of the site, as well as the history of local land development and the significance of the Port of Long Beach. In addition, Ground Education educators will be sharing garden activities suitable for all visitors.

“This is a special opportunity to spend time on a unique urban farm and learn about sustainable gardening practices from our team of nature educators…all ages are welcome!” said Holland Brown of Ground Education.
